Jeff and I have a rule that we don't eat at chain restaurants that our located in our hometown. Why? Well, we want to experience the local cuisine and there are so many local places to try. We did make an exception to our rule last Saturday. We were celebrating our anniversary and we wanted steak. Our other option was
Saltgrass Steak House, which I love, but we have eaten at it a few times and that was breaking our rule of not repeating restaurants. We do break that rule from time to time and that upsets Jeff. We decided that since we hadn't eaten at Texas Roadhouse for a few years, we could break the rule.
We started the meal with a Blossom. It is
a hand-battered onion, golden-fried and served with Cajun Horseradish sauce. It was good, but there was something not quite right about it. Jeff said it tasted fine to him.

I ordered the ribeye, of course. It was very tender and juicy. My potato was loaded with bacon, cheese, sour cream and butter. It was very good.

Jeff ordered the t-bone with a baked sweet potato. He said the steak and potato were both good.

The meal also came with a side salad.
The restaurant was very loud with music. I really don't understand why restaurants feel the need to turn up the music so loud. It is hard to carry on a conversation.
The food was very good. I ended up taking a doggy bag home and sharing it with Scout and Joey and their rating was eight paws up.
